Kewal Kiran Clothing Q2 net profit rises 27 percent to Rs 50 crore

Kewal Kiran Clothing Ltd witnessed a 27 percent rise in net profit to Rs 50 crore ($6 million) for the second quarter ended September, as against Rs 39 crore posted in the year-ago period.

The company’s revenue for the quarter grew by 16 percent to Rs 262 crore, as against Rs 226 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

Commenting on the results, Kewalchand P Jain, chairman managing director of Kewal Kiran in a statement said, “I am pleased to inform that this quarter has been a milestone period for the Company on several counts. To begin with, the company has achieved the highest ever quarterly sales and profit for the quarter in its history. We delivered a resilient and competitive growth in a challenging operating environment.”

“Looking forward we remain cautiously optimistic. Our focus is to provide superior value to our consumers, drive competitive volume growth, and invest behind our brands. Notwithstanding the external slowdown, we are confident that we are on the right path to execute the growth strategy,” he added.
