“With a shared core value of ingenuity and rich history rooted in design, Disney and Fossil are kindred spirits,” Melissa Lowenkron, the chief brand officer of Fossil, said in a statement. “Disney holds a special place in many people’s memories and within Fossil’s archives. We’re thrilled to launch the first part of our long-term collaboration, look forward to sharing more in the coming months and hope people enjoy collecting these unique and nostalgic pieces.”
The limited-edition sketch Disney Mickey Mouse watch ($395) nods to Walt Disney’s original Mickey Mouse illustration, with a dial that features handwritten notes from the original Walt Disney Animation Studio’s Mickey Mouse artwork.
It’s mirrored to look like parchment paper from a sketchpad. According to Fossil, only 1,723 units of that watch will be sold globally, with the last two digits representing the year 1923, when Disney was created.
For another touch of nostalgia, the upcoming collection also includes the Special-Edition Classic Disney Mickey Mouse watch ($395), which reimagines the vintage Disney Mickey Mouse timepiece made in 1992.
Other jewelry selections include the figurine necklace ($125), the ID plaque necklace ($150) and the ID plaque bracelet ($135). The Minnie Mouse jewelry pieces channel the character’s signature style, featuring gold-tone stainless steel and hand-placed pavé crystals representing her bow and polka-dot dress.
When it comes to other accessories, the upcoming collaboration will offer a canteen bag ($230), the sling bag ($230) and even a travel set ($150), which are all adorned with classic silhouettes of Mickey Mouse.
The Fossil and Disney collection will be available at fossil.com and in Fossil retail stores starting Thursday.
